In a break between his frequent presentations, Francesco Maffei, Product Specialist at K-array commented: "Now the number of attendees has been split between ISE and PL+S, and Frankfurt attracts more professionals from rental and staging, events and touring, we've showcased our new products launched at ISE; at PL+S we kept some surprises for those who work on the road."
The new products presented in Amsterdam just over a month ago included: KT2 Tornado, point source compact speaker and the KTL2 version complete with integrated LED lighting. Both models feature a mini amplifier ("the smallest on the market"). The new, all-in-one KA24 and KA84 amps feature 4x2.000 and 4x500W respectively, plus on-board DSP and can be used as automatic mixers, in addition to interfacing with Crestron and AMX.
At PL+S K-array unveiled the latest addition to the Anakonda series - the Anakonda KAN200+ with double the number of transducers for a +6 dB power, especially useful in front-fill applications.
"The great success of the KAN200 - the first line array with a flexible structure - was recognized by the industry for its innovation with an ABTT Award and an InAVation Award," says the company. The upgraded version of the Lyzard - the KZ12, "is the only speaker as big as a finger," says Francesco, laughing. Today the speaker has an additional 3dB power and is more homogeneous, especially for low-mid frequencies.
K-array organized brief public previews of the brand new speakers for large scale live events: the KH8 and KS8 subwoofer, currently in beta-testing but soon to hit the market.
"From the experience of KH4 and KS4," Francesco related, "we have developed a system for large scale concerts that meet all the challenges that can be faced during touring. The system was designed to adapt to any environment, from sport stadiums to large outdoor fields, and you can calibrate it easily and quickly which also gives concert organizers maximum flexibility for ticket sales. The system can be hoisted in 10 minutes and the 'forgotten' freeing up time for other tasks: it was built to resist any condition and meet the requirements of the most challenging venue. We want to offer our vision for large venues, and we're convinced that the KH8 system will make a difference for the future of touring events."
Sound engineer Klaus Hausheer has recently joined the K-array team to manage the Concert series, in particular the KH8 system. "Klaus brings a wealth of knowledge of large scale live events to the company. His experience is advantageous for the company and for our customers from a technical development aspect and also reinforces our commitment to better serve our customers worldwide," Francesco stated.
