The Kara/SB18 Pilot Programme will primarily involve existing members of the L-Acoustics Rental Network - in particular dV-Dosc owners interested in advanced field testing of the new system for corporate and special events through to concert applications.
The initial companies taking part in the scheme are UK-based rental companies SFL and Plus 4 Audio, French events specialist Impact Evenement, Wilhelm & Willhalm from Germany and global production company PRG, all of which are located near L-Acouistics headquarters and offices to facilitate close collaboration with the R&D team and technical support. Emphasis will be put on preset validation, system configuration and design, rigging and general system set-up and operation.
"We are pleased with the overwhelmingly positive responses we have had since proposing this scheme at Frankfurt, especially from our existing dV-Dosc users," says L-Acoustics marketing director Stéphane Ecalle. "With a design inspired by our new K1 stadium system, Kara delivers a considerable number of improvements over its predecessor: added LF resources for increased bandwidth and coherence, improved directivity control in the horizontal plane, vertical inter-element variation up to 10° and improved ergonomics thanks to an integrated rigging system and lighter weight."
The Kara/SB18 Pilot Programme is expected to run throughout the summer in preparation for Kara's official launch, scheduled for September.
