UK - Leading lighting supplier, LCA (Lights, Camera, Action) has introduced Filmgear, a new range of lighting to the film and television industry. Manufactured in Asia, the Filmgear range is being exclusively distributed by LCA to the European, Australian, New Zealand, Middle East and African markets.

The range consists of Daylight Fresnels: 575W; 1.2kW; 2.5kW; 4kW and 6kW. Pars: 575W; 1.2kW, 2.5/4kW, 6kW and 12kW as well as a 2kW and 6kW space light. What makes Filmgear different? Not only is the construction of the lamp head sturdy with its hard wearing castings and aluminium extrusions, but the performance of the light is far better than any other on the market with the output and throw of light being noticeably more effective.

Nick Shapley, managing director of LCA, told us: "Together with our manufacturer, we have listened to a huge number of our customers to ensure the quality of the light is exactly up to their expectations. Along the way we have made changes as requested by lighting directors and directors of photography. From the immediate reactions we have received, we firmly believe Filmgear is the next generation of lighting."

LCA is currently working with the international market with the Filmgear range and understands the importance of providing immediate support in these territories. "With a product range the size Filmgear will become, there is going to be the need for local people to supply spare parts and immediate back-up. So we will need to organize the right distribution network - people who are tuned in to the broadcasters, film and television rental companies."

Filmgear is now shipping and many major rental companies already have equipment in their inventories. LCA hopes and expects more to follow.
