UK - Leisuretec Distribution CEO and founder, Mike Henden, has returned to head up the company following the departure of managing director, Nick Spalding.

"As would be expected, we are in the process of re-aligning our operation; however we will not be recruiting anyone to the position of managing director," said Henden. "I am now heading up the business with the existing management team."

To further develop the logistics aspect of the company, two new recruits have joined Leisuretec - Cliff Dounting to the position of operations manager, and Bill Daniels as Logistics team leader. Brian Payne has also joined the company in the capacity of technical sales back in August and Leisuretec is now recruiting further personnel to bolster the logistics team.

Despite 2007 being another challenging year in terms of the economy, Leisuretec achieved a year-end sales figure of £6.27m, an increase over 2006 of circa 4%, and are targeting further growth in 2008. With an asset base of almost £2.0m, the company remains in pole position for development and opportunity. Growth for 2008 is targeted through a boost in its core business of sound, lighting and special effects products and distribution of Pioneer Pro DJ products. Leisuretec also distributes Vestax Pro Audio Products exclusively in the UK.

Nick Spalding was instrumental in bringing the Vestax brand to Leisuretec and developing it over the last two years. Mike Henden stated: "The good working partnership between the two companies will continue. Vestax is very important to us and targeted for significant growth."

He further said: "Nick and I have worked together for many years and I very much appreciate all of the positive things he has contributed during his time with the company. I understand that Nick intends to stay within the industry and I look forward to maintaining our good relationship in the future."

"Leisuretec Distribution is in great shape for the future and I am extremely proud to have had a significant involvement in its evolution to date, having held the role of managing director since May 2000," said Spalding. "However, as part of continued evolution I am looking forward to facing new challenges in the future. I am absolutely convinced Leisuretec will continue to provide a 'positive option' for its customers and suppliers alike and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the customers and suppliers of Leisuretec that have continued to support the success of the company to date. I also wish all of my former colleagues the very best success for the future."
