UK - A huge success story in Spain, street-wear retailer Desigual is now raising its ambitions to a more global level. And to entice shoppers in to sample its ranges of garments, Lighthouse 10mm LED screens are providing an eye-catching entrance in Desigual's most high profile stores, starting with the recently opened store in Las Ramblas in the very heart of Barcelona, Spain.

The company currently has 38 Spanish outlets, in locations from Barcelona to Zaragoza, while new outlets have recently opened in Italy and Singapore with one in London to follow in the spring.

The Desigual store in Las Ramblas, Barcelona is in a prime position, cutting through the heart of the city centre. Such is the popularity of the area and the amount of shopping on offer that something very special is required to make any new retail premises stand out from all the others. Desigual therefore chose two Lighthouse screens located at the main entrance of the store to provide the essential visual impact.

Installed by Barcelona-based audio visual company LightSound, the two screens each comprises Lighthouse P10i/o panels configured ten panels wide by two panels high, with dimensions of 6.4m by 1m. They are showing promotional, branded graphic content, produced in Macromedia Flash and run from a personal computer.

"LightSound is Desigual's designated audio-visual technology supplier and, together with the designers of the premises, we recommended the Lighthouse LED screens as the ideal way to maximise attention," says David Boja, project manager and managing director of LightSound. "The proprietors of Desigual had also seen the Lighthouse P10 screens at Amsterdam Schipol airport and were impressed by the image quality.

"We are currently working on the screen design for the next major Desigual store, which will open in London in April. It will also be the P10i/o screen, in a four panels wide by six panels wide configuration, with dimensions of 2.56m x 2.88m. Furthermore Lighthouse screens are also due for installation in other Desigual stores during 2007," he adds.
