Much of the sales growth in both the UK and export markets has come from the Ethos range of live sound products, which will be on show at PLASA. Ethos CA, shown in completed form at last year's show has found favour in the marketplace with its scalable flexibility, while the introduction of Ethos Nd bass options has also helped the larger Ethos VA system to achieve record sales, the company reports.
Having achieved success in both small and medium format array markets, it's time to move up in format and so PLASA08 sees the launch of Ethos LA - a long-throw array module designed to give existing Ethos users an upgrade path that builds on their existing investment in Ethos VA. The new product will fly above existing VA enclosures and extend the use of the system to over 100m. Ethos LA is in effect a dual VA module featuring four 8" cone drivers and four waveguide mounted 1" compression drivers, with coverage of 90° horizontally x 5° vertically. Ethos LA can also be used as a standalone system with VA acting as a down-fill module, say Logic.
Logic System's Sue Ellis commented: "Ethos LA is all about the company listening to customers' needs. Hire companies that have grown with VA need to make the next step up the ladder, but want it to integrate with their existing stock and not have to invest in a whole new system. In this respect Ethos LA delivers 100%."
At PLASA08, the full range of Ethos live sound products will be complemented by the LM series of stage monitors and ML multi-functional cabinets.
