Fletcher began his career in the industry as a salesman for various professional photographic equipment suppliers, while pursuing his studies in Economics and, at the same time, got involved in stage hand work at the local IATSE. in September 1986. In 1997, he graduated from Lionel-Groulx College in Theater Production, and, in December of the same year, joined the team at Solotech as lighting specialist, where in 2002 became project manager for Performing Arts venues. All the while teaching theatrical lighting classes at the college where he attended and graduated.
