The new speaker will be built entirely in the UK. "We wanted to help bring back manufacturing to Britain and to fly the flag for home grown products." said technical director Graham Gosden. "We will be using high quality materials and components with a hard wearing, professional finish. The speakers will be made from European birch ply and will be fitted with high quality drivers supplied by British and European manufacturers. Manufacturing in the UK will also enable us to greatly improve stock control."
The new speakers will replace the highly successful TP range which has been a standard fixture in clubs, bars, schools and rental companies for the past three years.
The Blakite mid/top speakers will all include pole fittings, flying points, bracket adaptors, rubber feet and a 35 degree rear slope for use as stage monitors. The subs are all bass reflex with pole adaptors and rubber foot recesses. Larger models will also have wheel options. The new range will show a significant increase in sound quality, frequency range, power handling and efficiency.
The Blakite TR range will consist of three additional speakers designed for live performance.
The dual function TP62 is fitted with 2x 6" drivers and a 1.7" compression driver. Interchangeable horn flares allow use as a single source or mini line array. The optional flying hardware is designed to stack the speakers on top of a sub to create a large single source or to be flown as a mini line array with up to eight cabinets per side. A compact stage wedge fitted with concentric drivers will also be included and the range will be completed by the HLP mid/top, a three way horn loaded cabinet.
These products and others from the MT Professional Audio range will be on display in Hall 8.0, stand number D15.
