SSE has been field testing the system over the past three months, powered by Camco Vortex lightweight amplifiers. It appeared in public for the first time on Tori Amos' Rotterdam Ahoy show during her recent European tour. Following the run of highly successful Oasis shows, FOH engineer Bruce Johnston, who is a long-time Nexo fan and was very keen to be one of the first to use the new Geo-T system, comments: "I'd been to the demo in Frankfurt and couldn't wait to get my hands on the system and try it out. It was fortunate that the Oasis German shows coincided with the launch and that I could be one of the first to get out there with it. I have to say I was stunned by its performance - the clarity, quality and coverage were amazing and I had a great time. Nexo have a real winner here - and it looks so fantastic."
SSE Group hire director Chris Beale added: "Geo-T has been an extremely interesting project and SSE are very proud to have assisted in the process of development. The system challenges many of the 'line array' conventions and corrects many of the errors that abound in other systems to the extent that we don't even refer to it as a line array but as a Tangent Array. This term accurately describes the perfect inter-cabinet coupling and the accuracy of the curvature settings of the rigging system. In addition the true cardioid characteristic of both the mid-bass and the sub-bass provides huge improvements in sound quality, especially in reverberant spaces. Nexo has not only built a new and ground-breaking large-scale concert PA system, but has defined a new performance standard."
