According to SSE’s Emma Barwell, Nolans were very impressed by Geo-S when they came over in January for a demo of both Geo-S and the new Geo-T. "While they’d always been very happy with the performance of the Alpha system, it does have quite a rock and roll profile, but Daniel isn’t really a rock and roll act, so when they saw the Geo-S, they were delighted," she said. "Geo-S suited them in every way, both in terms of its physically compact profile which is far more discreet and corporate than the Alpha system and therefore better suited to Daniel’s style, and of course in terms of performance which frankly belies its size. We’ve used Geo-S in the RAH on many occasions, and we know that it does a fantastic job. This was no exception."
The system supplied by SSE comprised a total of 15 S805 and one S830 plus five CD12 per side for the main hangs and a further seven S805 and two S830 per side for the side hangs. Camco Vortex 4 amplifiers provided the power while Nexo NX241 digital processors handled system control. O’Donnell’s FOH engineer Padraig Grogan ran the show from a Midas Heritage 3000 while SSE system techs Steve Dando and Jonathon Hitching were on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly.
