Orbital's new risk assessment program offers theatre management a reliable means to calculate its average weekly sound levels in a theatre venue as this new legislation demands. And provides realistic solutions to help to reduce the output if it exceeds the weekly recommended noise barrier.Providing a complete solution for all theatrical employers with front or rear of house employees, Orbital is offering specially designed and easy to use sound measuring equipment that will help assess noise output in any venue. Consisting of small dosemeters that clip discreetly onto employees working in specific areas; they are activated simply via a keyfob.
For a typical production, five to ten dosemeters are required to accurately 'diagnose' the sound levels in the key areas of a venue - i.e. side of the stage, orchestra pit, audience seating, front-of-house staffing positions and technical control areas. Once the appropriate measurements have been taken, the dosemeters are returned to Orbital where their technical support team analyse the data with the help of custom-designed computer programs and produce an appropriate risk assessment for all working environments on a given production.
The risk assessment report will highlight areas of weakness in compliance coupled with recommendations and suggestions as to how to protect employees that are vulnerable. Set apart by offering practical and realistic advice, Orbital has built an enviable reputation for supplying advanced technical solutions that have been adapted over the years in line with contemporary demands.
