Australia - Staging Connections once again linked up with Amway to stage and deliver one of Melbourne's largest incentive-based business events held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) during April 2008.

The Amway China Leadership Seminar Program saw approximately 7,000 delegates visit Melbourne during April in four groups. During their visit, each group attended the business sessions with technical production and project management by Staging Connections and Gala Dinners produced by Peter Jones Special Events.

Amway opted for Staging Connections' services when it chose Melbourne to stage one of its largest incentives outside of China and Hong Kong. According to Ben Ashton, chief operating officer of Staging Connections: "To deliver the required visual impact for the business sessions, Staging Connections constructed the largest front projection screen to be built in Australia as well as a state of the art Vision system which included 12 projectors, seven Folsom Encore VPs, hard drive video replay and 14 Watchout computers all running fully digital signals.

Other elements of the sophisticated set up include an EAW line-array digital audio system; a large lighting rig comprising numerous intelligent lights and static fixtures supplied and installed by Bytecraft Entertainment, a technical operation crew of 15 (comprising local and Chinese technicians), and a crew of over 50 technicians and staff to set-up and break down the event.

In addition, Staging Connections managed the event infrastructure including the construction of the custom set and stage, installation of tiered seating for a 2,000-seat theatre, setup of carpet, flat-floor seating, room drapes, tiering drapes, power and a photo-booth area for the delegates to be photographed on arrival. The Company also provided table centrepieces for the gala dinners.

"When you first walk into the room the sheer size of the screen is very impressive indeed . . . but the true value of what Staging Connections delivered for Amway are 32 flawless show hours of extremely complex, cutting edge technology which was used to deliver the client's message perfectly," Ben Ashton said.
