A recent workshop was held - jointly organized by Outline's Brescia, Italy HQ and the branch office in Farmingdale (NY), where the network of US representatives officially took shape. The States are all now covered except Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Outline's Giorgio Biffi chaired the workshop. After providing training for the 60 original products in the company's catalogue, he introduced a pre-release version of OpenArray, the avant-garde control and 3D simulation software, written by the Italian R&D team. This conveyed to the American attendees the philosophy and key principles on which Outline has been based since its foundation in 1973.
Biffi commented: "It was the first time we had officially presented our identity under the discerning eyes of some of the most respected professionals of the pro audio industry, whom we are now proud to call our representatives. As CEO of the company, my hope was to pass on the concept that is so well summed up in our long-standing motto: 'The Sound of Big Ideas'."
He added: "In the brief two days of the workshop, it was important to 'anoint' the participants, reminding them clearly of Outline's mission, which, simply stated, is 'to conceive, design and manufacture loudspeaker systems, electronics and 'special' acoustic components, with unmistakably distinctive features, characterised by high-level innovation and performance at the absolute top end of the professional Sound Reinforcement industry. In fact, now more than ever before, I believe that the practical application of this motto has become a must."
Thomas Bensen, the industry veteran at the helm of Outline North America LCC as VP and Director of Operations, comments: "We expect great results from the American market, which is the most prestigious and important market in the world. We are truly excited by the commercial success of Butterfly, mini-COM.P.A.S.S. and MANTAS in particular in other world markets and felt the time was right to present Outline as its own brand and identity to North America. The response has been extremely positive with unprecedented results in a very short time. Looking forward, with new products and technologies on the near horizon, 2010 already has the makings of a record year."
