Peavey Electronics will once again sponsor the Agora Stage at Frankfurt's Musikmesse this year
Germany - Peavey Electronics will once again sponsor the Agora Stage at Frankfurt's Musikmesse this year, providing audio equipment from all of its brands including Peavey, Crest, MediaMatrix and Architectural Acoustics. Special guests will include dub supergroup Tackhead and multi-talented Canadian metaller Devin Townsend.

The Agora Stage is actually made up of two stages (A & B) which are run adjacent to each other, so to maintain sufficient coverage, three hangs of Peavey's Versarray line array system will be deployed: one hang dedicated to each stage, and a central hang serving both. Each hang will comprise eight Versarray 212 three-way tri-amped mid/high enclosures; and 24x Versarray 218 subwoofers will be arrayed beneath the stage to provide low frequency reinforcement.

Twenty-four Crest Pro 9200 amplifiers will be dedicated to the subs (one per sub); and the Versarray 212s will be powered by a combination of 12x Crest Pro 7200s (Channel A feeding the 2.5" drivers, while Channel B feeds the ribbon drivers) and 12x Crest Pro 9200s for the 12" drivers.

Both stages will be equipped with a Crest CV-20 56 Premium console (48 mono channels & 8 stereo channels) at FOH position, and a Crest HP-Eight (40 frame) to run the monitoring set-up, which will consist of six Peavey QW ML stage monitors and two 'flotating' QWs per stage; and a VR 218 sub and a QW 2 assigned to the drums, all powered by Peavey CS amplifiers.

Three Versarray 112 mid/high cabinets and a Versarray 218 per side will provide the side-fills, also powered by CS amps; and front-fill will be generated by four Architectural Acoustics Impulse 2652 low profile two-way systems per stage, powered by Crest Pro 5200 amps.

An Architectural Acoustics Digitool MX audio processor will handle all the processing functions such as EQ, limiting, crossover, delay and time alignment for the main PA system and front fills; as well as any switching between stages.

"We're again looking forward to the opportunity to put so much of our gear through its paces in front of what is a very critical audience," says Clive Roberts, managing director of Peavey Europe. "It's great exposure for all the product lines, especially the Versarray system, which is a revolutionary product in its class.

"And of course we're delighted to have the opportunity to work with such top class artists as Doug Wimbish, Skip McDonald and Keith LeBlanc (the original Sugarhill Gang line-up). We're hosting a party on the Thursday night at which they will be playing in the band Tackhead also featuring DJ Adrian Sherwood and the Rolling Stones musical director Bernard Fowler on Vocals."
