UK - Auditoria's Scott Willsallen has been one of the leading audio designers for major international and outdoor events since 2004. He has been involved in the majority of the Olympic Ceremonies since then. From Athens 2004 to Baku 2015, in Sound Design for Olympic Ceremonies - Lessons Learnt he will discuss the challenges of sound designs for these complex projects, from loudspeaker system design, control system redundancy, signal transport, RF systems, music replay and timecode. The session will also discuss the broadcast sound, and the many steps between source and destination.

"This is an interactive session where will talk about my design process and the lessons I've learnt over many years of major event sound design," says Scott. "I'll follow it with a discussion about if, and how, some of these techniques can be implemented into small-scale projects, so even if you're not embarking on anything quite as big as the Olympics, it's a great opportunity to pick my brains and see how you can translate what I've learned to any project!"

The session takes place at 11.15 - 12.15 today at PLASA.
