Germany - At Prolight+Sound this year, some special guests will lend their voice to the experience of working with the d&b Soundscape. At 14:30 each day, in a sessions entitled My Soundscape, one of three special guests will take questions, and play sound cue samples in an hour long discussion.
On Tuesday, renowned theatre designer Sebastian Frost will talk about his experience while working on Sting’s musical The Last Ship; Wednesday sees Grammy award winning artist and engineer Imogen Heap talk about using Soundscape aboard her Mycelia European tour; on Thursday, Serge Gräfe, sound engineer and designer, will offer an insight into creating multi-dimensional soundscapes with German electro pioneers Kraftwerk on their 3D world tour.

Germany - AV Stumpfl will present its latest products and solutions at Prolight+Sound, including Pixera mini, a mobile and ultra-compact version of its range of media servers, as well as the Pixera v1.0 software, and the upcoming AT64-Shift screen system leg.
Pixera is a 64-bit system for realtime media processing, compositing and management, built around the key theme of usability. A radical new interface logic enables even first-time users to intuitively understand the main software mechanics.

Germany - Claypaky is set to unveil a number of new products, including a moving head light with a laser light source, at Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt.
Xtylos, a compact beam moving light with a laser source, features an RGB additive colour mixing, where coloured light beams are as bright as a white light beam. The Xtylos “opens up new, surprising prospects for the development of the entire entertainment lighting world”, says the company.
Axcor Wash 600, the versatile light part of the Axcor LED moving head range, fits a four-blade framing system and works with any lens type. The fixture is available with PC (standard), Fresnel or Clear lenses. The three types are interchangeable and can be purchased separately.

Germany - High End Systems has announced the three teams that will be competing in the Hog Factor final at Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt on 3 April.
These are AKA (UK), Vienna Illuminates and STEX (both from Austria). The lighting programming contest will take place on the High End Systems booths in Hall 12.1 from 5pm.
Each team will provide a performance lighting piece programmed on a Hog console to a specified song via a Capture visualization file.
Attendees are invited to join the crowds at the High End stand (B41) on Wednesday 3 April at 5pm for the latest instalment of Hog Factor. The shortlisted teams will be pitted against each other to win exclusive prizes and the sought-after Hog Factor Prolight Champion accolade. The winners will be selected by a judging panel of industry lighting designers.

Germany - The new Doughty Fifty Clamp will make its Prolight + Sound debut next month. The bigger brother of Doughty's best-selling Twenty Clamp, the Fifty Clamp will be on display in hall 12.0, stand D84.
Mark Chorley, design engineer at Doughty comments: "We are really excited to hear what people visiting the show have to say about this new clamp. Early indication is that it's a bit of a game changer. Some of our customers have already told us that the extra 30kg is going to make a big difference."
The Fifty Clamp has TUV approval, a SWL of 50kg and has been designed to fit tube diameter 38mm - 51mm. It is made from pressure die cast aluminium which prevents damage to thin wall truss.
