Ra'alloy's new Rapi-stage was seen to fit well with plans to promote the Pier. Copycat acts such as Queen, Shania Twain, Britney Spears and many more were scheduled to perform, aiming to encourage a full spectrum of visitors to the pier. The stage was manufactured in just four weeks and stands 25ft high and is clearly visible from the seafront. Face on the stage measures 50ft wide by 18ft deep.
The system was launched last year and is manufactured from aluminium and fabric. Rapi-stage is a fully integrated roof and deck system, therefore minimizing the space required for traditional tower supports. The structure will have to withstand severe weather conditions, due to its raised position, one third of a mile out to sea, in the English Channel.
Ra'alloy was established in 1995 and has become a global brand, supplying its anti slip ramps to the public plus a variety of industries including the trucking and disabled access markets. The company have supplied products to many well-known venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, and played a major part in the 1999 refurbishment of Butlins.
Managing director Graham Corfields said: "The company has grown by supplying quality products and allowing customer requirements to drive the range. As for some other companies, things have not always been easy, financing and development is constantly a problem, however with an immense order book now at its hands the company looks set for a bright future".
Following the installation on Brighton Pier, stage hire also looks set to become a major part of Ra'alloy's everyday activities.
