Italy - Settimana Internazionale della Danza, held in the Italian city of Spoleto, is an international competition focusing on young dancers between the ages of 12 and 24. Now in its 17th year, it is highly regarded event that draws competitors from around the globe.

This year saw specialist equipment manufacturer Rosco provide sponsorship for the competition with the donation of a 10 x 12m black and white Dance Floor used to cover the stage in the theatre in the cloister of San Nicolo on which the competitors danced throughout the week.

"This is the ideal product for such an event," says Rosco's Southern European sales manager . "The Rosco Dance floor is a highly portable vinyl floor, so it's great for situations where a permanent dance floor can't be installed."

The week-long competition was divided into classical, modern and contemporary dance and choreographic composition and was rounded off with a final gala with performances from the Joese Limon company, the Stuttgart Ballet and the dance Company of the Teatro del Opera, Roma amongst others.

"It's wonderful to be able to support such a prestigious event and a great testament to the suitability and quality of our dance floors," comments Rosco's director of corporate development, Diane Grant.
