The award winning PSM 900 from Shure
UK - Shure's PSM 900 - the first to market channel 38 ready in-ear monitors - may only have debuted at the beginning of 2010, but in that short time they have picked up fans in high places. They're already being spec'd for high-profile TV shows - including Later with Jools Holland - and are being used on more and more world tours by artists including The Who, IronMaiden, Phoenix and Passion Pit.

And now the PSM 900 is picking up awards too. PLASA 2010 saw a host of pioneering products entered into the Award for Innovation. The PSM 900 was one of three products commended by the PLASA judges, who remarked: "A combination of technology in this in-ear wireless monitoring system allows the user to save significant time in setting up on-stage mixes. The Judges felt the Cue mode and RF mute were useful features that combined to make a flexible system."

Shure Distribution MD Peter James commented, "2010 has seen the biggest PLASA awards to date, with more judges, more products and even more innovation than ever before. To be commended for the PSM 900 so soon after launch is a real honour but not a complete surprise. PSM 900 represents the pinnacle of in-ear monitoring technology and the revolutionary new features and exceptional audio quality have quickly found favour with sound engineers and artists all over the world."

John Henry's general manager Robert Harding is closely involved in some of the biggest projects on British TV, including Later with Jools Holland, Strictly Come Dancing, Wogan and Jonathon Ross.

"Engineers are already requesting Shure's PSM 900, even though it's only been available for less than six months now. Word is already getting around and now we're really beginning to see them spec'd on gear lists for all events, big or small. We've tried them out, and they are very good. They work well, they sound good. And that's why we've bought some."

Passion Pit's tour manager Andrew Dobbins said, "Comparing life before and after the PSM 900s is like comparing night and day, and this is the feedback we're getting from the band as well."
