The two-day event covered a variety of subjects, from basic principles of audio engineering to complex installation design tutorials, referencing Telex's numerous networked installations in the World Cup football stadia in Germany. Presenters from Shuttlesound, including John Ellis, Jason Kelly, and David Howe, were joined by Frauke Jungbluth from Germany, Dynacord's brand manager. Together, they took their audience through the Telex product portfolio, discussing different brand philosophies and the possibilities for integration between the technologies, in particular IRIS control software and the RL Series of networked amplification products, and the new NetMax digital matrix.
Shuttlesound has enjoyed such success with this Academy that it is now opening its doors to a wider audience of professionals; any consultant, end-user or dealer that has an interest in the curriculum is welcome to apply for a place. The Permanent Installation (PI) Academy will be repeated soon, and Shuttlesound is scheduling MI Academies as well as Academies with specific subject material such as Networking Audio.
Held at Shuttlesound's premises in Mitcham, south London, the Academies are well served by the substantial demo facilities there. Accommodation and the legendary hospitality of the Telex Corporation are part of the package. Interested parties should contact Shuttlesound to receive notice of the forthcoming Academies.
