Muse toured Europe before returning to an excited British audience, visiting eight arenas and making good use of Skan's Midas mixing consoles, an XL4 for front-of-house and Heritage 3000 for monitors. While The Darkness, one of the biggest names on the music scene at present had an exhausting schedule of dates spanning 10 weeks. UK venues included Manchester Apollo and Brixton Academy, where they also employed Midas mixing consoles, an XL3 and Heritage 2000. Tindersticks chose Skan's DiGiCo D5 console around Europe and the UK, while all tours made use of Skan's extensive range of Shure microphones.
Skan's corporate division also continues to flourish, having recently completed the 25 Years of Design party for Armani, which included an appearance by Ms Dynamite, as well as the recent opening of the Norman Foster building project 'More London'. Located on London's South Bank between Tate Modern and Southwark Cathedral, this development includes the spectacular new skyscraper 'the Gherkin'.
Skan's Chris Fitch comments: "It has been a very exciting, if not exhausting year. We've never been busier, our team of full-time and freelance technicians have been incredible, truly showing off their skills, installing great sound systems and turning equipment around with minimum timescales.
Touring arenas with some of the big names in music has been challenging and rewarding. The support our clients have shown us has been fantastic. I look forward to 2004, taking the experience with us and developing the business further, we have a huge volume of enquires for the year ahead, far beyond our expectations, so it is set to be another bumper year."
