As part of Stage Electrics' long standing commitment to training, which includes support in the past to the Northcott Theatre in Exeter and RADA in London, a new sponsorship agreement has been put in place with the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama to provide financial assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to take up professional work placements of their own.
The RWCMD's thriving Stage Management department which offers a three-year BA (Hons) Stage Management degree course at their Cardiff campus is accredited by the National Council for Drama Training and at the heart of the sponsorship deal between the college and Stage Electrics.
"We are thrilled to continue this sponsorship deal," said David Roxburgh, head of stage management at the College. "It provides our students with the financial security to be able to explore and enhance their professional training."
This sponsorship between Stage Electrics and RWCMD stretches back over six years and through these sponsorships Stage Electrics has successfully seen more than one graduate from the RWCMD Stage Management course going on to start a career within the company. The college also plays host to Stage Electrics annual Welsh Trade show scheduled for 20 October later this year.
Davie Bell, divisional sales manager for Stage Electrics comments, "We are really pleased to be able to renew our commitment to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. The successful education of students is important to the future of our industry as these are the customers and staff of our future."
