An elegant and modern addition to Tallinn's cityscape, the Meriton, which opened in May 2009, is located at the heart of the Estonian capital, close to the Old Town and the Parliament. The hotel has 301 guestrooms and the hotel's ace card is its combination of modern luxury in the shape of fine dining and health spa along with cutting edge business facilities.
A total of seven flexible conference rooms are furnished with the latest AV equipment including Sanyo 4500 ANSI XGA projectors, CommTec video matrices and Tannoy's loudspeaker systems. The largest of these conference rooms is capable of hosting up to 380 delegates, while another is located on the seventh floor with access to a roof terrace overlooking the historic city.
Elsewhere, the hotel has five specialist bar/restaurants in the shape of an Asian restaurant, French pastry café, local bistro, piano bar and main hotel bar. Each of these spaces features a mix of Tannoy's CVS4 and CVS6 full bandwidth blind mount in-ceiling loudspeakers. Over 600 4" driver equipped CVS units have been deployed throughout the main circulation spaces of the hotel including lobbies, halls and ancillary areas, while 265 of the larger CVS6 were specified in areas where additional full-range clarity and SPL were required.
Over 50 each of Tannoy's Di5 and Di6 loudspeakers were installed in areas where the in-ceiling systems needed augmenting or where they simply weren't a practical option such as in the outdoor spaces around the entrances or up on the rooftop terracing, and around the perimeter areas of the main restaurant.
Tallinn based systems installers, Digital Emotions' Erik Pauklin comments: "We've a great deal of experience in using Tannoy's speakers, and have yet to find a brand that gives me the same confidence in achieving great results with little or no reliability problems while delivering excellent value for money. In this market, reputation is everything and you're only as good as your last job."
