The training and education centre offers excellent facilities for its European re-sellers. An array of meeting rooms and two fully equipped studios provide the perfect surroundings for hands-on understanding of their products. Since launching the ICON D-Control and very recently the D-Command, the Digidesign headquarters has played host to many of the company's re-sellers visiting the training centre for training on these new products. The ICON tactile worksurface, D-Control combines Pro Tools functionality with the feel of a large-format console and a level of control that is being praised in professional studios around the world. To further ensure quality reproduction during demonstrations or training sessions, this flagship system, in the training room, has now been combined with a Tannoy Ellipse 5.1 iDP monitor system. Dave Tyler, Digidesign's European training specialist commented: "For composition, recording, sound design, broadcasting, or post-production, a system like the D-Control deserves to be partnered with a monitoring system of equal calibre."
Utilizing its built-in room equalization capability, each Tannoy Ellipse iDP loudspeaker can be individually optimized, taking into account its precise location within the room and independently profiled to the acoustic properties of the listening environment. Tyler further explained: "The D-Control arms operators with an unprecedented level of hands-on control over their projects. The Tannoy Ellipse studio monitor system complements this by providing the professional user with complete control over the entire monitoring operation."
The Tannoy system installed at Digidesign comprises five Tannoy Ellipse 10 iDP monitors and an iDP subwoofer - an exceptionally powerful 1.5kW active subwoofer utilizing two 12" side-firing metal-coned drive units housed in a substantially constructed cabinet.
