"I'm really excited to work on the Tapco brand and to have the opportunity to reach young artists and music enthusiasts of all kinds," said Boudreau. "With Loud resources behind Tapco, we are able to offer entry-level audio products of unparalleled quality. We have great things in store for 2007, too, including three new products at NAMM which demonstrate Tapco's commitment to delivering complete line sound and project studio solutions at exceptional value to our customers."
New in 2007 for Tapco are two sound reinforcement products - the Thump TH-15A Active Loudspeaker and the Series 69 passive loudspeaker - as well as one recording product, the Link.FireWire 4x6 audio interface.
Designed by the same team that produced Mackie's compact active loudspeakers, the Thump TH-15A Active Loudspeaker's two-way bass reflex (ported) design provides accurate response, from 20kHz all the way down to 40Hz. All-new Class D circuitry drives its custom, high-precision 15-inch woofer to greater volumes with less heat than is possible with competing designs. Additional onboard electronics include full system protection and 3-band EQ with swept midrange for maximum clarity, no matter the venue. The Thump TH-15A Active Loudspeaker will be available February 2007.
Designed by Loud's touring sound veterans, Tapco's Series 69 Loudspeakers deliver professional quality at an affordable price, says the company. For maximum portability, they are as compact as possible. Series 69 Loudspeakers feature premium drivers, PVC vinyl-covered wood enclosures, and custom-molded thermoplastic edge bumpers. The Series 69 Passive Loudspeaker family includes the 6912, a 12-inch two-way system; the 6915, a 15-inch two-way system; the 6925, a dual 15-inch two-way system, and the 6918s 18-inch passive subwoofer. The 6912, 6915, 6925 and 618s loudspeakers are available now.
