The assignment has seen a 240m length of wall, extending to a height of more than seven metres, clad in black wool serge. It means the highly popular exhibition venue is able to mask the original brickwork, which was in a variety of colours, in addition to assorted electrical trunking, cables and piping.
As well as tackling the work in the venue's 3,100sq.m Hall 1, Thorns' team is also due to clean and repair similar fabric that has been in place for a number of years in neighbouring Hall 2, which measures 4,500sq.m.
The latest project has been tackled by the group's Classic Technical Services division, which is a leading supplier of lighting, electrics, theming, set design, audio visuals and sound systems, as well as backdrops.
Paul Seeney, Classic's account director, explained, "Classic is an established supplier of linings for one-off events and exhibitions. While our backdrops may remain in place at some assignments for just a few days, the fabric at Stoneleigh Park will provide a robust wall covering that could potentially still be in use in more than 20 years' time."
Thorns' flame-retardant wool serge has been hung from a specially installed metal frame placed on three of the four walls in Hall 1. The fourth wall has not been covered as it features a number of windows and doors, although Thorns has also covered walls in the walkway leading to Hall 2.
Stoneleigh Park, set in stunning Warwickshire countryside, is a highly popular venue for exhibitions, conferences, trade shows, weddings, events and banquets, as well as team-building and a host of other corporate gatherings.

It has also brought hall 1 in line with our other exhibition hall, giving clients up to 7,500sq.m of stunning space to put on their events.
