For the sound system, operations director Yann Roberts chose a combination of Turbosound QLight, TCS Compact and Impact loudspeakers . Two TQ-445DPs and two TSB-118 subs service the dance floor area; the restaurant is appointed with six tq-310s, augmented by six TSB-110 subs, while eight Impact 50s with four TSB-110 subs, six TCS-101C and a further TSB-118 provide audio for the first floor. Finally, on the third floor, six Impact 50Ts are sited in the members' bar.
"I chose the speakers based on research and from speaking to some people I know in the industry," explains Roberts. "I called Turbosound directly and spoke to Paul McMullen, the UK sales manager. Paul put me on to Santi Arribas at OP Installations. I had worked with Santi before when he installed a system into the Cross nightclub, where I was general manager in 2000, so I was very comfortable with the whole arrangement."
"The White House requested a high quality sound system capable of giving a pleasant background music feel, as well as a club environment on the dance floor," adds Arribas. "We agreed with the decision to use Turbosound because the products are capable of meeting every one of these requirements. The range provides a cabinet for any possible application, without compromising sonic or build qualities, whilst looking good ."
OP Installations supplied a total of 42 loudspeakers to fulfil the desire for each and every corner of the venue to be covered. "The brief we had was to give customers a great sonic experience, regardless of where they might be in the building," continues Arribas. "For this reason we made sure that the cabinets were placed in such a way that we would avoid any 'black spots'. I'm always very keen to use TQ-445s for dance floors as they give a killer sound. And by combining them with the new TSB-118s we found the perfect marriage."
