Giles Copeman, who has been technical manager at VDC for the past five years, and Ben Holden, who is production manager, join managing director Niall Holden and technical director Dug Guthrie on the Board with effect from the beginning of August.
"In the last few months we have re-branded VDC to emphasize its dynamic image. This process culminated with the launch of our new website and product catalogue, both of which have been well received, as indicated by our recent record sales figures and our growing customer base," says Niall Holden.
"The decision to strengthen the Board reflects our determination to continue to grow the company by offering the broadest possible range of quality products, the best technical advice and by moving into new territories and markets. Both Giles and Ben have been integral to the success we have achieved to date and we feel sure that their expertise and knowledge will prove valuable assets to the management team."
Copeman began his career as a live sound engineer and spent two years at the Millennium Dome as a senior sound engineer. Since joining VDC he has been responsible for creating bespoke cabling solutions for a number of clients including the BBC, Royal Festival Hall, Harrogate Conference Centre and the English National Opera."When I joined VDC I was conscious I was going to be working for the best and I am delighted I have achieved director level," Copeman says.Ben Holden joined VDC Trading eight years ago and has worked his way up from being an apprentice in the wiring department to heading up the entire production department, which now has a staff of 20, plus managing all the site and freelance staff. He says: "I am delighted to be part of the management team and look forward to the weird and wonderful challenges ahead."
