Moeller is reportedly delighted with his purchase, despite the fact that he had to consign most of his furniture to the skip in order to make room for it in his apartment. Home also happens to be on the fourth floor, so he was obliged to call in a few favours from several of his skinnier musical friends to help him lug it up the stairs! "It was a fair amount of effort, but definitely worth the trouble!" he says.
Moeller explained he encountered Midas consoles for the first time when he started working with Ascon a year ago. "I realized very quickly that here was a piece of equipment I had to have, so I started saving straight away. However, having originally set my sights on the Venice, I soon realized that I actually needed more channels and better EQ facilities that the Venice could offer, so when Verona was launched, I pounced on the first sample available and brought it home with me."
"The difference was amazing," recalls Moeller. "The first thing I noticed was that all the noise had disappeared. Then I started listening to some of my favourite albums, and they all sounded completely different. The sound was far more transparent, and I even started hearing things on these albums that I know so well that I had never noticed before. Today, all my gear is more or less permanently hooked up to the Verona so I can benefit from the great-sounding preamps and EQs, with the result that it now so much easier for us to work with our sound."
