The Netherlands - At Integrated Systems Europe 2013, Amsterdam, projection screen specialist dnp denmark enters the market for LCD panels by introducing InvisiBezel - an optical LCD panel cover that reduces bezels in multi-screen displays to 1mm.

The visible gap between neighbouring LCD panels is a classic problem with multi-screen displays. Even with so-called 'super-narrow bezel' panels, the gap between the screens is usually around 5mm.

USA / UK - Premier Mounts has confirmed a strategic alliance with Vogel's Products, the leading AV mount manufacturer in Europe.

Starting 1 February 2013, Vogel's will sell 18 selected Premier Mounts' products exclusively under the Vogel's brand in Europe, the Middle East, and Australia, not including the UK. All other Premier Mounts products will be available as before from Premier Mounts Europe.

Both Premier Mounts and Vogel's Products will be exhibiting at ISE 2013, and encourage those to visit both booths and meet the team.

UK - The latest UK arena leg of the successful Mumford & Sons Tour of Two Halves world tour featured 2,547 of XL Video's latest FX-200 product, together with three Pixled F11 LED screens, HD cameras / PPU and crew.

The versatile FX-200s were specified by lighting and visuals designer Ed Warren from Next Level Lights.

The small opaque plastic balls encase LED clusters and can be fitted together and configured to suit any design.

The band have been touring for the last three years with various different arrangements of tungsten lightsources over and around the stage as an integral part of the lighting rig.

Earlier in this tour, Warren introduced LED festoon lighting, going from the stage and reaching right out into the audience ... and he wanted to take this up another level and add another dynamic and adaptable lightsource to the mix - enter the FX-200.

UK - West Midlands-based video and production specialist Central Presentations Ltd (CPL) designed and built a high-impact interactive walk-in video effect for a large company party in Bristol at Motion nightclub - and also supplied video, media servers, content and projection equipment.

CPL was working for the event producers Bright Productions who commissioned the walk-in effect which was designed and engineered by CPL's project manager Nick Diacre.

It utilised 60 VersaTube LED battens, a Pandora's Box media server with customised html5 code and an iPad. The brief was based on the idea that the event became more energised as it filled up with guests, each one contributing to the 'full power' needed to get the party started.

USA - Avolites Media's Ai Media Server has powered a spectacular 3D video mapping experience at one of Las Vegas's biggest New Year's Eve parties.

The fast, intuitive Ai Media Server - which has become an integral engine for some of the world's most ambitious visual events - was used to map the graphics projected onto three giant structures for the 2000-strong party at the luxury Aria Resort to welcome in 2013.

Russia - St. Petersburg-based integrator Ascreen, dnp denmark's premium dealer in Russia (and dnp Partner of the Year 2012), has designed and implemented a major AV system upgrade at the St Petersburg Court House, using the Danish company's solutions.

The building's main conference hall seats 350 people, and ensuring that they all get a good view was the installers' key concern. The solution they chose was a Supernova Infinity screen measuring 5500mm x 3094mm, made of the standard 08-85 material to achieve the highest image possible, and driven by two Panasonic PT-DW100 10000 ANSI lumen projectors working in 'dot-by-dot' mode.

UK - XL Events supplied video production - including high powered projection system, control, screen management and crew - for the 2013 National Television Awards, broadcast live on ITV from London's O2 Arena.

Working for producers Indigo Television, the event was project managed for XL by Paul Wood. XL has been involved in the event - this was its thirteenth year - since 2005, in which time the production video elements have expanded significantly.

This year, the stage and set was designed by Wieder Design from Munich, well known for their work on German Idol, X-Factor and a myriad of other high profile TV extravaganzas.
