Germany - W-DMX is a new wireless DMX system developed by Wireless Solution Sweden AB. Most systems for sending wireless DMX today, transpose the data on to a proprietary standard such 802.11 (W-LAN) and use compliant wireless equipment for data transmission.

W-DMX Black Box Mk2 is the second generation of transceivers for Wireless DMX 512. A small unit that that can handle up to 512 DMX Channels with a built-in power supply of 90-250V giving an option for low voltage power. Also a large range of different antennas is available for various applications. W-DMX Black Box Mk2 is also available with built UPS function of 5-8 hours use and an IP65 version for outdoor architectural applications.

The system is developed in association with lighting designers and radio engineers from Sweden largest GSM Manufacturer. By bringing these two worlds of expertise together the company has created a product that transports DMX 512 wireless without interference with features including: True plug and play, support for up to 16 DMX Universes with built in features including: battery backup, WYSIWYG, talkback, wireless software updates to fixtures and standard protocols (based on protocols of adaptive frequency hopping technology developed by US Army).

W-DMX was awarded "most innovative product of the year" at the PLASA show 2004 and is now following that up with the new generation of Wireless DMX, which will be presented at Prolight and Sound in Frankfurt on the SGM Light Technology and Ultralite Stands and at Palme 2005 on the SGM Light Technology Stand.
