Palmer has been in the lighting and sound industry since he was 18, starting his career working in a local nightclub whilst training as an electrical engineer. He worked for various electrical contractors in the performance industry, including bars and leisure complexes. He later joined Stagecraft as an engineer, being promoted to sales director in 2004. He has designed and worked on over 200 performance venue projects, including over 50 newly constructed schools, drama spaces, recording studios and numerous village halls.

White Light has also recently appointed new sales co-ordinators - Amanda Humphreys and Rachael Bates to deal with daily sales enquiries and Sabina Lockwood as sales office administrator, following the promotion of Caroline Ferris to sales office supervisor.
