Cadac's S-Type console is building a strong international profile, with Cadac reporting orders across a wide range of applications - demonstrating the console's intrinsic flexibility. In the US, Masque Sound has recently deployed both S-Type and R-Type consoles for a variety of musical show and touring projects. The console is also proving popular with the corporate events sector, with installations most recently in Germany and Italy. Other new sales include broadcast, theatre and touring applications in Europe and the Far East. The R-Type's reputation for flexibility and touring reliability continues to grow, particularly with rental companies. The console has been nominated for the 2003 TEC Awards, under the category of Sound Reinforcement Console Technology.
The D20 Digital Input Mix Matrix goes into production in late 2003, providing the technology platform for Cadac's development of a full-scale integrated digital console. Philip Jones, responsible for heading up Cadac's digital programme, says: "Our philosophy is to provide a bridge for our existing customers between their current analogue consoles and future technological developments. We are doing this in two ways - through our digital systems that integrate with our analogue console designs to provide greater functionality and flexible operation, and through our SAM software. This transcends the traditional operational platform, giving our users multiple console control via an ever-smaller control surface. We fully recognise the substantial investment that our customers have made in their existing hardware. Our focus is to find ways of extending the functionality of that investment without compromising audio quality or performance in any way. That is the driving principle behind Cadac's R&D process and our move into the digital domain."
