Europe - Swiss electric chain hoist manufacturer GIS AG has launched two new D8 products, of 500kg and 1,000kg capacity, for mobile use in the entertainment sector.
The LPML and higher capacity LPL chain hoists are both capable of lifting over 40 times their own weight. The LPML weighs a modest 12kg (20kg with 18m lifting height) and delivers a lifting capacity of half a ton. The LPL meanwhile lifts 1,000kg, and when fully equipped for an 18m lifting height weighs in at just 39kg (23kg net weight).
The hoists will be introduced as a supplement to the popular GIS D8+ motors, used for static suspension of loads over people. Hoists to the standard D8 specification may also be used for static suspension of loads, but it is essential to have a secondary suspension, such as a load arrestor, for example. The hoists are manufactured in accordance with EN14492 and DIN56950.

Belgium - AED Group has launched its own pro audio brand, AED Audio.
The news was announced during AED’s annual Customer Nights networking and showcase events in December and is seen as a return to the company’s roots, as AED’s CEO Glenn Roggeman designed and built loudspeakers during the 1980s and early 90s.
AED Audio’s range includes two lines, the Flex and Solid series. The Flex series comprises one model, the multi-purpose powered line-source speaker Flex6, which can be used in various applications, including flown as a line array or mounted on a pole.
Part of the Solid line, Solid15 is a compact, single 15” 1.800W RMS low cabinet or subwoofer which can be used in many scenarios and several configurations. The speaker can be operated standalone, flown and stacked.
Meanwhile, the Solid28, combined with the Solid15 in low and the Flex6,

USA - At NAMM 2020, monitoring specialists PSI Audio will exhibit their active studio speakers, including the A17-M, A23-M and subwoofers A225-M and A125-M.
In addition to the monitor speakers, PSI Audio will also show the AVAA C20. This product helps with controlling the part of room acoustics that is generally most challenging to treat: the low frequencies from 15Hz to 150Hz.
With its five-inch woofer membrane, the PSI Audio A17-M is fairly small compared to a lot of other nearfield monitor speakers. Due to the use of innovative proprietary technology like Adaptive Output Impedance (AOI), Compensated Phase Response (CPR) and Class G/H amplification, the A17-M provides great accuracy.
For those who require a larger speaker, PSI Audio’s A23-M “delivers exceptional range and accuracy for discerning producers and engineers”. For added flexibility, the speake

The P8 arrives exactly 20 years after the launch of the PS8, a super-compact stage monitor and PA speaker which, together with the larger PS10 (launched 1993), became a staple product in rental inventory for AV and audio production companies, and a common sight in fixed installations.
At its manufacturing HQ just north of Paris, France, Nexo has invested in new tooling and assembly plant to produce the curvy modern enclosures that are the signature of its new P+ Series. Re-imagined for the 2020s, the P8 and P10 models will put entirely new possibilities into the hands of the sound designer

Europe - After 40 years on the market, the General Purpose (GP) truss series from JTE is still one of the world’s most popular multi-purpose systems. Quality performance for medium-sized projects is delivered via its safe and stable plated connection system and classic bracing pattern.
This type of truss is also the industry standard for film productions, which use it to build huge “lanterns” or “reflective panels” for indoor/outdoor applications.
The General Purpose truss series consists of two sizes, the 30.5 x 30.5 cm (12” x 12”) GP30 and 52 x 52cm (20.5” x 20.5”) GP52, which are able to handle a wide variety of support structure needs and loading capacities.
The GP30 is a mid-sized, heavy-duty 30.5 x 30.5cm (12" x 12") general purpose truss designed for conferences, exhibitions, and small venues.

Germany - d&b audiotechnik has announced the availability of two new software enabling technologies: CPL for SL-Series (coupling), and Temperature Humidity Control (THC) realtime high frequency compensation for loudspeaker arrays.
The CPL for SL-Series technology allows the extraordinary d&b SL-Series line arrays to be easily adjusted for specific venues. THC provides high frequency compensation due to temp/humidity as part of the d&b ArrayProcessing software: fluctuations in both temp/humidity can now be addressed in real time via the R1 Remote Control software - simplifying control and saving time. These software updates are available now.
“Visiting many SL-Series installation sites and working with the users and tech teams in the field, we realized that there was still room to improve the system workflow,” says Werner ‘Vier’ Bayer, d&b produc

Germany - The RTI PIKO RGB 28 has been released by Ray Technologies as the first product with the latest RTI laser module generation. “This new laser module technology really changes the way professional laser systems are built. The compact form factor and the great visibility combined with the quality of the beam profile make those new laser systems stand out even more,” states Jordi Luque, head of R&D at Ray Technologies.
The new RTI diode modules are designed in a way to keep both spot size, as well as divergence equal on both x- and y-axis.
The beam specifications of the new RTI PIKO RGB 28 are given with only 4mm diameter and less than 0.9mrad divergence - which applies to both axis, so it’s an actual value not an average and provides higher quality results than specifications with mixed calculations. The extremely small beam diameter allows for the use
