UK - SPS has launched LiveSign, a new digital signage offering aimed at the live events industry.LiveSign utilises the principals of permanent digital signage seen at airports, railway stations and retail environments and makes it accessible to the live events market, says the company. This technology is designed for conferences and exhibitions and can be developed for any number of live events, from a one-day conference or three-day exhibition, to a week-long sporting event.

Among LiveSign's features is the ability to change information instantaneously and at the last minute, with no disruption to the live displays. This makes it possible to alter the time of a seminar or the name of a speaker and publish these changes on all the screens at the event. UK - At this year' ABTT Shows, XL's touch screen media delivery systems will be highlighted on the stand. These are designed for easy and quick visualisation during a performance, where manual operation is appropriate. The operator simply touches the chosen icon to start 'play' of a sequence or single clip of media. The system can be used with or without audio.

Recent tours for this system have included Tony Robinson and Mitchell & Webb - and it has proved to be particularly appropriate for comedic performances.

Also prominent at the show is XL's high brightness projection equipment. This will be displaying custom electric masked projected shapes above the XL Video stand - from a distance of 35m - complete with the new generation of Barco CLM quiet running 10,000 ANSI Lumen projectors.

USA - As the first line of soft cases designed specifically for lighting products, Arriba has created bags for just about every piece of equipment a mobile entertainer could possibly own. Now the company has expanded its lightweight case line and come out with a series of five soft bags for stage trussing.

The new AT Truss Series includes three different-sized cases for straight truss (designed to fit both square and triangular trussing), and two cases for holding union junction blocks. USA - Wybron has announced the launch of its Outdoor BP-2 Beam Projector. This new fixture is designed specifically for outdoor applications and is based on Wybron's established BP-2 Beam Projector designed for theatre applications. The Outdoor BP-2 is IP65 rated and has all the light characteristics of the original BP-2. It is designed to prevent leakage in any outdoor lighting project regardless of the weather.

Built entirely of aluminium with stainless steel fasteners, the Outdoor BP-2 can be lamped with a 800W tungsten or 150W discharge source. This outdoor beam projector produces an extremely intense soft edge, narrow 10-degree beam of light several times more intense than an ordinary spotlight of similar wattage. Germany - ETC's new Eos lighting control system has won the Showtech 2007 trade show's Product Award for Lighting and Projection. This award is the second such honour for the Eos, which took the Product of the Year Award for debuting product when the desk was introduced last autumn at LDI. But the Showtech award is the first ever European award for an ETC desk and marks ETC's strong presence in the European entertainment lighting market, says the company.
