The product launch follows sharp on the heels of worldwide Beta testing on productions including London's Theatre de Complicite, New York's Deuce on Broadway and the TPI Awards in London, where a network of three Hippo V3s provided both video and audio to the entire award ceremony.

V3 also featured in the World Premiere of Frobisher at the Calgary Opera and Hard Dance Awards 2007 in London. Eire - Dublin-based Zandar Technologies will be displaying a range of key product enhancements at InfoComm, 19-21 June 2007 in Anaheim. These enhancements are designed to increase both the flexibility and the usability of Zandar's products in a wide range of professional AV applications.

UK - Orbital Sound has announced the launch of its ZedAlpha monitoring software, which has been designed to complement its range of Zaxcom digital radio microphones. Designed by Orbital's Theo Holloway, ZedAlpha boasts "an extremely friendly user interface". It runs on a Windows platform with a Universal PCI interface and is designed for complex theatre and broadcast applications.

ZedAlpha allows the remote monitoring of all the principle parameters of the Zaxcom TRX900 body pack and TRX800 hand-held transmitters. These include remaining battery life, RF levels and audio levels. Plus an expanded view of each channel streams the last two minutes of data for analysis and fault finding. The software can also be used to fully program the receiver functions including encryption levels enabling secure and confidential transmissions.

UK - Leisuretec Distribution showcased the latest Vestax products to an enthusiastic visitor base at the recent NADJ Show in Birmingham.

"The complete Vestax range was extremely well received, with massive interest in the VCI-100, PMC-280 and the new TTM1V CD / Turntable interface," says Leisuretec business development manager, Stephanie Lambley. USA - Elation has added two high-output fixtures to its Design 36 LED family of lighting products - the Design LED 36WA and Design LED 36 UV. A white and ultraviolet wash respectively, the new DMX-compatible units use advanced LED technology to highlight any object, area or event with drama-enhancing washes of light, says the company.

The Design LED 36WA white wash is designed for video production and other applications where a white light is needed. It includes 30 white LEDs, plus six amber-coloured LEDs, which can be mixed via DMX to create varying degrees of warm and cool white hues. The more amber added, the warmer the white, giving users the ability to create the exact 'shade' of white they desire.

USA - Symetrix is showing version 1.1 of the Integrator Series Zone Mix 760 paging and music management system at the InfoComm 2007 exhibition.

Version 1.1 introduces a number of feature enhancements to the 760, a zone mixer that has been designed to provide the optimal feature set and I/O count needed for restaurants, hotels, sports bars and nightclubs.

The number of presets now available has been increased from 10 to fifty, and some minor issues have additionally been fixed.

Korea - The 17th edition of the Korean International Broadcast, Audio & Lighting Equipment show (KOBA) was held earlier this month at the COEX centre in Seoul.

For the sixth consecutive year Proel Korea was present at the show. The theme of the stand was based around the Proel touring and sound systems catalogues, with the main emphasis being on the Axiom Vertical Progressive array systems.

Germany - Bosch Security Systems has added a visual notification appliance to its range of 420 Series fire-detector accessories. The Strobe 420 Series is compatible with Bosch's base sounder to provide optimal visible and audible fire alarm warning in a wide range of applications. The strobe has a new LED design that produces synchronised, high-visibility flashes at 1Hz. Light flashing in the 1 to 3 Hz frequency range avoids possible blinding effects or disturbance to persons with photosensitivity. The 420 series strobe is an addressable device with the advantage that it is loop powered, freely configurable and determining which strobe is switched on and in which event.
