USA - Chauvet, a leading manufacturer of professional lighting and video equipment, debuts Épix - an exclusive series of flexible, pixel mapping LED fixtures run by the ArKaos Kling-Net protocol.

"The launch of the Épix Series marks a bold direction in the world of affordable pixel mapping fixtures for Chauvet," CEO Albert Chauvet said.

Épix Bar and Épix Strip generate intense output due to tri-coloured SMD LEDs, which are set at a pixel pitch of 25 millimeters. Épix Bar has 160 SMD LEDs and is self-contained with built-in operating features, while Épix Strip incorporates 40 SMD LEDs and uses Épix Drive 640 - a separate controller which operates up to 16 Épix Strip fixtures.

The Kling-Net protocol automatically configures real-time video data, thus removing the complexity of setting up standard LED displays an

Surrounding the truss square are 10 LED Shadow blacklights, six hanging along the perimeter while the other four fan out in a half moon, mimicking the stairs to the dance floor below. On the crescent's outskirts are four Q-Spot 160-LED moving heads, which run down the centre of the club. Two Swarm 4 effect lights hang from the ceiling at the front of the restaurant and shine through the windows,

UK - ETC has reported an extremely positive response to its latest products, which were first seen at this year's PLASA show in London - with its latest desk, Gio, attracting a great deal of attention.

Gio fills the mid-range position in the Eos family, between Eos and Ion. It offers the power of full Eos functionality, but in a smaller footprint; it has already been used by programmer Andi Davis on the UK tour of Dirty Dancing, which recently started in Bristol.

Visitors to the ETC stand at the PLASA show queued for a demonstration of the desk, with many going away impressed at the desk's power and versatility; plus, the lower cost of the desk compared to Eos means more budget to spend on other aspects of the lighting, such as fixtures.

On display and available for demonstration were the new ultra bright, high colour, energy efficient Selador Desire LED fixtures - in

The celebration involved lighting the historic city with a vast array of colour from high atop the mountains. Two W-DMX F-1 G4 Transmitters and Receivers were used to send signal to 40 Vari*Lite VL3500 Washes, 20 Vari*Lite VL3000 Spots, 20 Atomic 3000 strobes and 2 Strong Super Trouper 2K follow spots.
