USA - Strong Entertainment Lighting has announced the promotion of John Luhrs to the position of national sales manager. John has been with Strong for over 18 years and most recently held the position of Southern regional sales manager.

John will continue to have direct responsibility for the company's sales efforts in that region, and will also be responsible for sales planning throughout the US and in Canada. UK - Anderson Ward Consulting (AWC) is the new name for the independent sales export and business development consultancy formerly known as Mick Anderson Consulting.

Founded by Mick Anderson in 2002, MAC has built up a reputation in the professional audio industry as an external resource for export sales and distribution management. With the appointment of Paul Ward as a partner in the firm, the consultancy has elected to change its name to reflect the new status quo.

USA - Martin Professional has confirmed that a deal has been reached between Inner Circle Distribution (ICD) and Martin Professional, Inc. (MP) that sees industry veterans and ICD owners Nick Freed, Noel Duncan and Gary Mass trading in their circle for a yellow triangle and rejoining the Martin US team.

During their time at Inner Circle Distribution, Freed, Duncan and Mass, all of whom have previous work experience at Martin US, emerged as key players in the US rental market.

Inner Circle Distribution has been involved in the entertainment industry since 2005 as a distributor of primarily moving head lights throughout the USA, Canada and the Caribbean.

UK - Maurice Marshal, MBE and co-founder of Stage Electrics, died on Saturday 10 July 2010 following a courageous fight against cancer, aged 76. A life-long passion for the technical side of theatre saw Maurice pursue a dual career as a partner in Stage Electrics and also as chief electrician at the Northcott Theatre in Exeter, where he launched the careers of a number of the country's top stage lighting designers and technicians. His services to drama and his commitment to training in theatre resulted in him being awarded an MBE in 2009.
