Little sister to the proven LX6464ES sound card which can exchange simultaneously 64 channels from and 64 channels to an EtherSound network, the LX1616ES can transmit and receive up to sixteen EtherSound channels, thus connecting computer-based audio applications to a 100Mb/s EtherSound network via a single Cat 5 cable.

The LX1616ES is designed for direct-to-disk applications that don't necessarily require as many as 64 channels, but still require maximum flexibility to play and/or record selected ES-100 audio channels using just a single Cat 5 cable. Italy - FaitalPRO has re-launched "a significantly improved woofer model already present on catalogue" and unveiled a new mid-woofer.

Flavio Naggi, overseas sales manager of FaitalPRO states: "Knowing how to transform the research of our internal R&D department into concrete economic value applied on both new products, as well as on continuous improvements in already existing ones, is a real priority for us: That is why we never stop, not even when we are satisfied with what we have created."

Improvements have been made to the FaitalPRO 18" woofer model 18FH500. The result is that now this woofer is able to sustain a 100W more than the previously declared power, climbing from 500 to 600W of nominal power.

The new FaitalPRO 10HP1020 mid-woofer boasts two spiders, and a small sized membrane compared to the classic subs, with a 4" voice coil.

UK - An exhibitor at the very first ABTT Show in 1978, White Light returned to the thirtieth anniversary of this show last week.

A central feature of the stand was the EvenLED cyc-lighting system, already supplied by White Light to one major musical and "in demand from many more shows". A metre-square tile containing 16 super-wide-angle three-colour LEDs, each individually controllable, EvenLED is designed to be built into an array behind a BP screen; there it can evenly light a cyc at a throw as low as 25cm, creating an array of bright colours or - because each pixel is individually controllable - rainbows, clouds, graduations, colour wipes and more.

UK - Leisuretec Distribution Ltd has secured the first shipment of the newly launched Cloud DCM-1 eight channel digitally controlled mixer.

The DCM-1 is Cloud's first ever microprocessor controlled multi zoner, providing space-conscious sound installations with a high level of flexibility without the need of a PC. Leisuretec Distribution received the first shipment to leave the production line of the Sheffield based manufacturer this month.

Australia - LSC has announced the release of Version 3 software for the maXim range of consoles. More than 30 bug fixes and enhancements have been made to improve the console's functionality and ease of use, says the company.

New features in the software include support for USB flash drives and MIDI and support for trackball control of pan and tilt control will be added soon. The console's fixture library size has been significantly increased by a factor of five to cater for the larger Fixture Templates found today and the number if fixtures it can now hold is up from 64 to 128 fixtures.

Also included in the new release is a complete rewrite of the console's memory and performance monitoring system. This, and over two months of testing, has resulted in the most stable software system to date. The latest software, for all sizes of maXim, can be downloaded from the LSC website.<

Headlining at this year's show is the introduction of the FLM HD20 (1,980 x 1,080 resolution, 20,000 centre lumens) and FLM R22+ (1,400 x 1,050 resolution, 22,000 centre lumens), two new high brightness additions to the FLM projector family. The new Control Contractor 40 Series premium in-ceiling specialty loudspeakers incorporate JBL's conical Radiation Boundary Integrator (RBI) technology, adapted from JBL's groundbreaking Vertec series line array loudspeakers, and providing "exceptionally broad and consistent pattern control with superior sonic performance".

USA - Community Professional has introduced the VLF Series of Versatile Low Frequency loudspeakers. The VLF line boasts a compact, low-profile design that is designed for theaters, restaurants, houses of worship and other applications, fitting into areas where larger subwoofers are impractical.

The dual 8-inch VLF208 and dual 12-inch VLF212 are the first in a series of powerful low frequency subwoofers.
