USA - Peavey has updated the PR Series powered loudspeakers with its new class D amplifier topology for lighter weight on the new PR 15D and PR 12D models.

The Peavey PR 15D and PR 12D are two-way powered loudspeaker systems engineered with a bi-amplified class D power section that drives a 12" woofer with a 150 watts continuous and a 1.4" titanium-diaphragm RX14 compression driver with another 50 watts continuous. This high-speed amp topology has helped the PR Series shed 20% more weight than previous models, down to 37 lbs. for the PR 15P and 28 lbs. for the PR 12P.

The PR 15D and PR 12D are capable of up to 120 dB peak SPL and feature Peavey's DDT speaker protection, which virtually eliminates audible power amplifier clipping. A built-in, heavy-duty crossover increases reliability at high power levels.

UK - dnp has announced the release of a new Ceiling Cassette for discreet installation of the retractable dnp Supernova Flex Screen. This will be available in the UK through distributors, Paradigm AV.

"Eight out of 10 installations with retractable front projection screens are currently ceiling-mounted, so we anticipate a dramatic increase in sales as a result of the introduction of the Ceiling Cassette for the Supernova Flex. This new installation option will undoubtedly drive new business for installers who work with the Supernova Flex Screens," says general manager of dnp denmark, Niels Hermansen.

The ceiling-mounted system targets users who prefer their Supernova Screen to 'vanish' when not in use - for example, in conference rooms and home entertainment applications in private homes. At the push of a button, the Supernova Flex Screen rolls down through a slot in

Norway -projectiondesign will use Integrated Systems Europe 2009 to showcase a completely updated range of professional projectors, as well as the range of high-end home theatre products, and the latest in 3D stereographic projection systems.

Anders L°kke, international marketing and communications manager, notes the irony of projectiondesign this year choosing to showcase its products inside a 'blackbox'. "Given that many of our projectors are used in research applications which, for political, scientific, or commercial reasons are top-secret, it seems rather appropriate for us to showcase the latest fruits of our own R&D in a way that is controlled and discreet," he says.

Among the new products on view 'in the box' will be three revamped product platforms - the F12, F22 and F32 series - all of which are updated to feature performance enhancing VIDI lamp technol

UK - 2008 saw Artistic Licence celebrate its 20th Anniversary. It also marked 10 years since the advent of Art-Net, the communication system which allows large amounts of DMX512 data, and multiple DMX universes, to be transmitted over an Ethernet network. Art-Net was originally launched, royalty-free, into the public domain and has since become the industry standard in control protocols.

Technology has continued to developed and advance during these years and, with it, so has Artistic Licence's product range.

"The popularity of Artistic Licence's control solutions is, in part, due to our philosophy of creating products which are demanded by the market and which can be updated as technology develops," says the company.

In line with this, Artistic Licence has recently undertaken a complete redesign of its popular Art-Net products to bring them up-to-date and make the

Sweden - Lab.gruppen has announced the addition of three new models to its FP+ range, including a new flagship amplifier, the FP 14000. Also new are the FP 9000 and the FP 4000, bringing the total number of amplifiers in the FP+ range up to seven.

FP 14000 delivers 14000W (2 x 7000W @ 2 ohms) in just 2U. The Regulated Switch Mode Power Supply (R.SMPS) has been updated throughout the range to provide more sustained high power during extended bursts of low frequency content, while at the same time ensuring stable rail voltages even with wide fluctuations of external mains voltage.

FP 9000 and FP 4000 also offer considerable power density, delivering 9000W (2 x 4500W @ 2 ohms) and 4000W (2 x 2000W @ 2ohms) respectively, in just 2U. At the core of their performance, and indeed that of the FP 14000, is Lab.gruppen's Class TD output stage, an amplifier topology that approaches the e

Germany - NetMax has advanced to the next level with the N8000-1500. At the heart of the N8000-1500 is the new DSP-2 engine. Composed of three dual-core processors, the DSP-2 expands the total processing power of the N8000-1500 to 1500 MIPS. The modular nature of NetMax means that each input or output card added to a chassis provides an additional DSP engine and another 100 MIPS of processing power. This means that a fully loaded chassis provides 1900 MIPS of processing - almost double the power of the original N8000.

Combined with the optional CobraNet interface, NetMax's monitoring and supervision options, FIR-Drive, and the multitude of control options provided by IRIS-Net, the N8000-1500 represents the most powerful pro audio processor on the market, claims the manufacturer.

UK - Crowd safety barrier specialist Mojo Barriers celebrated 21 years of business with the international launch of Gatekeeper at The Event Show at Olympia, this month.

Gatekeeper is a smart turnstile system with proprietary software, designed to improve crowd safety at events. By counting the number of people entering and leaving a controlled event area through multiple exits, it monitors and automatically controls the capacity in real time.

"Gatekeeper meets a longstanding demand of promoters and public event organisers everywhere in the world," said Patrick Jordan, managing director of Mojo Barriers. "Until now, there has been no way of measuring the exact size of a crowd entering or leaving a public space through many different gates. Gatekeeper can keep track of the number of people in any controlled space, allowing organisers to prevent overcrowding even

UK - White Light will be demonstrating how it can bring theatrical solutions to architectural problems at the 2009 ARC Show.

On show for the first time anywhere will be the new Fusion 672 LED video system from Illieum, together with its powerful Fusion Mapper control system. A lightweight batten - just over 1m long and weighing just over 3kg - each Fusion 672 contains a 72x6 array of tri-colour SMD LEDs with a ultra-wide viewing angle. Battens can be arranged in increments of 90degrees to create patterns or to form part of the structure; the set-up can be programmed on site or plotted in a spreadsheet in advance.

Once uploaded to the Fusion Mapper, the battens are automatically configured and addressed. The Fusion Mapper accepts any DVI or VGA video input, mapping the video signal to the layout of fixtures. Alternatively, the controller can receive DMX or ArtNet control for ef

UK - Exhibiting at The ARC Show for the first time, G-LEC UK will be showing its newest architectural LED lighting product, Chimera. Suitable for museums, interior design, themed spaces and hotel and corporate reception areas, the first installation is in the BMW Museum in Munich, where 700m² form an impressive media façade for BMW Square, the heart of the museum.

Combining two existing products - LEDs and printed circuit boards - G-LEC's Chimera is one of the first products to offer absolute flexibility of shape without compromising control over individual LEDs, offering designers great possibilities for dramatic graphics and video using an LED video system that can cover large areas or fit the smallest space.

Also being seen at The ARC Show will be G-LEC's fun 'balls on a rope' Solaris system.
