Gerriets presented the new Vario Brilliance, available in seven high gloss colours, as well as Vario Grip which due to its PU coating and its stain-resistant and anti-skid surface is suitable for application in the event and show sector and is available in 10 different colours.

USA - American connector specialist Switchcraft has launched two new impedance matching transformers that convert 110Ω digital signals to 75Ω signals and vice-versa.

Designed to allow long distance transmission of digital audio signals through 75Ω coaxial cables, the transformers are made using rugged but compact metal housings and are available with male or female three-pole XLR connectors to BNC receptacles.

USA - Elation Professional has introduced the Design Wash LED Pro, a high-output DMX-compatible LED moving head colour wash.

Although compact and affordable, the Design Wash LED Pro is bright, powered by 108 high-output 3-Watt Rebel LEDs (52 red, 22 green, 22 blue and 12 white). Its LEDs can be blended to create a palette of millions of colours through additive RGB mixing using a DMX controller. The addition of white LEDs to the usual RGB mix is an extra-value feature that allows the Design Wash LED Pro to produce more vibrant colours and pastels, and also makes it a suitable fixture for designers who want to create a true white, says the company.

The Cloud PM1 single-zone paging microphone with its heavy-duty moulded base and 300mm gooseneck has an attractive and modern appearance and is supplied with a windshield. Connections are provided for wiring the mic to the mic audio signal and access contacts. The PTT (PressToTalk) button un-mutes the mic and provides contacts (NO or NC) for the host device's access connector.

UK - A new addition to the PL remote control range, the PL-11 is an IR receiver, which uses the proprietary PL-Anet Cat 5 plug 'n play protocol employed in Allen & Heath's iDR and iLive digital mixing systems. Built in to a wall plate backing, the PL-11 receives commands from the PL-5 hand held IR transmitter, which can be set to perform specific functions using iDR's System Manager software or via the TouchScreen in iLive mixing consoles.

The PL-11 IR receiver is useful where open or 'hidden' system settings need to be changed by authorised personnel, as they do not have any unguarded controls. 14 soft keys on the PL-5 can be programmed to manage functions such as levels, mutes, preset recall and MIDI strings for external equipment interfacing. iDR systems also provide tally / RS232 out, and IR protocol is contained in the System Manager software download bundle.

The Cloud CX261 is a 1U rack-mounting audio mixer offering simple control of high-quality background music - including a front-panel 3.5mm jack input for easy connection to laptop, portable MP3 connection, or similar - with a host of flexible paging options.

Any one of six stereo line inputs can be mixed with one or two microphone inputs. Independent control of music and mic levels is provided and may be operated remotely.
