UK - ETC has reported an extremely positive response to its latest products, which were first seen at this year's PLASA show in London - with its latest desk, Gio, attracting a great deal of attention.

Gio fills the mid-range position in the Eos family, between Eos and Ion. It offers the power of full Eos functionality, but in a smaller footprint; it has already been used by programmer Andi Davis on the UK tour of Dirty Dancing, which recently started in Bristol.

Visitors to the ETC stand at the PLASA show queued for a demonstration of the desk, with many going away impressed at the desk's power and versatility; plus, the lower cost of the desk compared to Eos means more budget to spend on other aspects of the lighting, such as fixtures.

The stand featured latest truss products from James Thomas, including the pre-rigged, time-saving Lo-Pro Truss and a media player presentation of the space- and cost-saving X-Truss, alongside the latest intelligent lighting fixtures from PixelRange - the PixelSmart, SmarLine4. From the non-intelligent lighting range the QLite was debuted alongside its recently-launched and more powerful cousin, the QPar.

UK - A touch of domesticity now: for those in the UK who are looking for a bayonet-fitting LED replacement lamp for their home light fittings, there may be an answer at hand . . . Verbatim has introduced two new, retrofit, warm white LED lamps designed for the most popular UK socket - the B22 bayonet fitting.

Verbatim, a division of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, is the first major brand to offer these Classic A style LED lamps, which offer 75% energy savings over traditional incandescent bulbs and have a service life of 35,000 hours - or around 50 times that of a conventional bulb. UK - Cadac literally cut the cake in celebration of major accomplishments at this year's PLASA exhibition, marking a triumphant return to the show for the heritage mixer company. Cadac's management was unequivocal in its appraisal of the company's presence at the show. Head of marketing Patrick Almond stated, "This is the most successful PLASA show for Cadac in years; perhaps the best ever."

UK - Central Presentations (CPL), West Midlands and Bristol UK based AV rental specialist is the first UK rental company to take delivery of the latest Coolux Pandora's Box quad head media servers.

These four DVI output units are to replace their existing Pandora's Box units, which were also among the first in UK rental stock when purchased 5 years ago.

The new units were specified by CPL's Nick Diacre, and supplied via UK distributors, TMB. The latest CPL investment was timed to coincide with a large automotive industry event for which CPL is the video supplier at the NEC in Birmingham, after which they will be going directly on to another show where sophisticated video mapping is required.

The National LM3448 adaptive, constant-off time AC/DC constant current LED regulator integrates a 600-V MOSFET and is optimized for 2-W to 8-W dimmable LED lighting drivers. In order to expand the offering within this series, d&b is launching the new E4and E5 loudspeakers that size wise fit below the recently launched E6,the successor for the venerable little E3. The E4 will be available from November 2011, while the release of the E5 is scheduled for January 2012.

The E4 and E5, the latter being a new design for the popular E0, are lightweight two-way passive loudspeakers that employ a 4" and 5" LF driver respectively and a coaxially mounted wide dispersion dome tweeter. Russia - Held from 15-18 September at the Culture Exhibition Centre Sokolniki, Music Moscow is an annual entertainment technology trade show that attracts thousands of visitors from across Russia and the CIS.
