UK - Really Creative Media (RCM) provided screen content along with equipment and touring engineers for Jax Jones March tour, cut short by COVID-19. It was the company’s final gig before the UK entered full lockdown on 23 March.
RCM was enlisted to create the dynamic screen content for DJ Jax Jones’ first tour since the September 2019 launch of the artists Snack (Supersize) album. A month ahead of the tour, RCM’s Jack Fox liaised with creative director Aimee Phillips and the artist, working alongside lighting director Liam Griffiths of Stage Techniques and production management team Only Helix to create a new show with fresh material for the on-stage LED wall. They also re-purposed existing content from previous tours, before getting creative in the company’s London editing studio.

UK - The beginning of 2020 saw the finals of the IFMAR 2020 1/12 World Championship at Milton Keynes’ Centre MK. Event production supplier, SFL, provided a zoned AV system for the event, made all the more challenging by the Championships being held in a working shopping centre that remained open to the public throughout.

USA - USA – More than 150m fans around the world witnessed pop stars Shakira and Jennifer Lopez perform a Latin-inspired concert at this year’s Super Bowl LIV halftime show, on a huge circular video floor powered by Green Hippo Hippotizer Tierra+ media servers.
Lighting director Jason Rudolph took the helm for the visuals for the prestigious halftime show, which was produced by Touchdown Entertainment on behalf of the NFL. It took place at the 65,000-capacity Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

UK - Stage Electrics has won the contract to complete the technical fit out of production lighting, sound, video, comms and stage engineering systems at the new purpose built, fully accessible, Brixtonhouse Theatre (formerly Ovalhouse Theatre) which forms part of the Somerleyton Road Project in the heart of Brixton.

UK - Technical services provider White Light (WL) has taken delivery of a number of Powersoft’s T Series amplifier platforms from the company’s UK distributor, CUK Audio.
The purchase, which took place between July and October of last year, included 31 T604s and three T602s, and was made after the company had a chance to get some hands-on time with the products at WL’s warehouse.
WL’s senior audio technical project manager, Harry Saxton McCann, says: “CUK’s product demos were brilliant, and the training was ideal to bring our freelance and full-time staff up to date with Powersoft’s latest offerings. Europe - LED display manufacturer, Absen, has hired Philippe Poppe as its new business development manager for the Benelux region.
Poppe has a strong background in the corporate AV market, having worked at Harman, AMX, and Crestron among others, and will primarily be tasked with helping Absen to build its fixed installation business in the area. In addition, he will work closely with Absen’s local distributors and system integrators (VADs/VAPs) and help develop the company’s regional channel strategy.
