UK - Sunbaba Screens, suppliers of printed and plain banners, screens and PA scrims are showcasing the newly developed 'DigiSound' at PLASA 2004. As part of their continual product development program the Sunbaba Screens team have developed a new scrim material - "DigiSound", which allows sound to pass through it with almost no signal degradation. The unique symmetry of the yarn in 'DigiSound" allows brilliant images to be reproduced, while maximizing the mesh openings. This type of weave increases the sound flow, com

Italy - With the launch of the DWS2400, dB Technologies has produced the worlds first digital wireless system operating in the 2.4GHz range, thus leading the way to the future of wireless transmission. In the past analogue wireless systems have always required a 'compander system' to increase the 'signal to noise' ratio to a usable level, limiting the range of the dynamics. Not so with the DWS 2400 System.

With the digital wireless system, the analogue signal is converted through a high profile 'Delta Sigma 20bit AD-Converter' in the transmitter into digital data. The data packages are then sent to the receiver and converted back into an analogue signal. This technology produces a full dynamic range and the data transmission also avoids the frequency modulation of an analogue system. The result is a crystal clear sound without hissing.

UK - Duran Audio will be exhibiting at this year's PLASA Show, where it will be officially launching the AXYS Intellivox DDS series and also the AXYS Target U16. Both products use the company's ground-breaking DDS (Digital Directivity Synthesis) beam-steering technology.

The electronic aiming previously available with DDC products, which can be thought of as aiming and focusing a light, allows users to aim the vertical beam onto the audience area from the acoustic centre of the array, say Duran Audio.

DDS users are offered the complete opposite; using Duran Audios DDA (Digital Directivity Analysis) software the user can define the array position and the audience area and allow the DDS algorithm to produce the best possible directivity for that array in the given location. The result is a complex dispersion pattern that "fits" the audience area, say Duran Audio. DDS

UK - Jump-Start - a small hand-held RDM and DMX512 programmer - is the latest product from the Artistic Licence test equipment portfolio. As the new Remote Device Management (RDM) protocol gains acceptance, the DIP-switches on the rear of moving lights will gradually disappear.
