South Afrfica - Keith Pugin has joined the team at DWR Distribution where he will assist with Prolyte, manufacturing, sales, installations and Prolyft motors.

Seven years ago, Pugin joined Electrosonic SA. He worked in the systems department and did lighting installations including the manufacture and design of lighting bars, custom steelwork and motor controllers. He became a product manager for CM Lodestar & Litec Trussing, providing sales and technical support.

"Over the last two years, I planned to start my own business," said Keith. "Then I decided to come on board at DWR."

UK - Northern Light has announced the appointment of Steve Turnbull as a business development manager.

Turnbull has spent the past seven years at Stage Electric's Newcastle depot, where he was branch manager and was also responsible for sales. Prior to that, he carried out business to business sales for Telewest and Orange, after a three year stint in the Royal Marines.

In his new role at Northern Light, Turnbull will be responsible for expanding market share for the company's boxed goods and consumables division - Northern Light Direct. For the past 10 years UK audio rental company Capital Sound has been working with CSE Forces Entertainment to support British troops in the Middle East, providing sound for the shows that are a vital part of keeping moral high.

South Africa - Schalk Botha has joined the sales team at DWR Distribution.

Schalk's introduction to lighting came when he was appointed as co-resident DJ at Bourbon Street, a nightclub in Boksburg; he was known as DJ Shabz.

In 2004 Schalk joined Prosound's TNA Lighting doing technical sales, repairs and installation.

He has freelanced with companies including Black Coffee and Hirezone, doing everything from rigging, programming and running shows, and then striking and loading trucks.
