He returned to New Zealand in 1989 and soon become general manager of Theatrelite - a manufacturer of lighting consoles and dimmers - where he established a dealer network throughout Australia and Asia. Chris Pyne, a veteran on the major international touring circuit spanning three decades, will takes up his new role with immediate effect, having decided to quit touring in favour of "a more normal life" with his family back in his native Australia.
