UK - Australian manufacturer Røde has announced the Stereo VideoMic (SVM) which is now available from UK distributor HHB Communications.

Aiming to build on the unprecedented success of Røde's existing shotgun-style VideoMic, the SVM is designed to capture detailed stereo audio.

Based on the company's ultra-low noise microphone technology, the SVM features an X/Y configuration that meets the challenge of professional stereo field recording by imposing a high level of rear noise rejection, whilst retaining the essential ambient sound of the recording environment, says the company.

The SVM attaches to the camera with a standard shoe-fitting, and includes a removable high wind furry windshield and an integral suspension mount, designed to prevent mechanical camera noise bleeding into the captured audio.

UK - Cadac Electronics will be launching its new S-Digital mixing console on Stand No: AA21 at the PLASA 2006 exhibition, taking place from 10-13 September at Earl's Court in London.

The Cadac S-Digital is designed primarily for live theatre applications, building on the company's 20-year history at the forefront of theatre sound. In a major departure from conventional paradigms in digital console design, the S-Digital is specifically conceived to reflect the surface architecture of Cadac's industry standard J-Type analogue console.

The S-Digital combines the instant usability and familiarity of an analogue console with the acclaimed build quality, sound, ease of operation, reliability and unequalled return on investment that are the hallmarks of a Cadac console, says the company. It offers sound designers, producers and theatre owners a digital alternative to the Cadac J-Type

Germany - VLM of Mettmann, Germany has introduced a new series of dimmable LED power supplies for all 350 and 700mA high-performance LEDs. Each LED power supply is capable of dimming twelve (at 350mA) or five (at 700mA) LEDs. A unique feature, however, is the ability of the power supply to combine with up to 99 slaves each of which is capable of supplying a further twelve or five LEDs respectively, which means the entire system is capable of dimming up to 1,200 LEDs synchronously - and without any compromise in terms of safety, the SELV (safety extra-low voltage) being maintained at all times.

The series consists of three products: the PTDCCD 15/350mA or 700mA, with which the LEDs a

UK - Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd. (DNP) today announces the launch of an NXT-enabled version of its award-winning front projection screen, the Crystal Illusion Screen. It is able to display a bright and crisp picture, even in a well-lit room, and uses NXT's SoundVu technology to deliver sound directly from the images, achieving audio-visual synchronicity.

The Screen first debuted in September of 2005, driven by the major growth of LCD, plasma and rear projection televisions in the large scale display television and home theatre markets. Previous matt type screens were unable to clearly display images in a bright room, resulting in their usage being restricted to business conference settings and home theatres. However, DNP's Crystal Illusion Screen uses liquid crystals to efficiently reflect light from the projector while absorbing all other light, achieving the same level of ima

UK - What started as a PC control package for the XTA DP100 Delay Processor in 1996, has grown into an audio management system. "We had no idea just how far AudioCore would go," says XTA's Andrew Grayland. "10 years on, AudioCore is almost unrecognisable," he continues. "With hindsight, it was a fairly simple package, designed to access the three bands of parametric EQ in the DP100, via a remote computer. As we added features to the units, DP200 then DP202, we added in the requests from engineers and sound companies about what they wanted AudioCore to do. DP200 became DP226, which became DP448 and AudioCore just continued to evolve along with the units - every useful idea we were given became written into code and part of the program.

"10 years later, we have matrixing control, phase filtering, crossover slopes and control of the DP4 Series processi
