France - DPA has launched the BLM4060 Boundary Layer Microphone, the stylish design and high performance of which makes it ideal for use in boardrooms, conference facilities, courtrooms, teleconferencing and other applications where excellent vocal pickup is required, says the company.

The BLM4060 is a transducer designed to work under optimum conditions when placed on a tabletop, but it also performs well on any other hard, flat surface that reflects sound. The microphone element is a prepolarized omnidirectional miniature condenser microphone with a 5.4 mm (0.2 in) vertical diaphragm specially designed for maximum performance. The microphone body consists of a centre rubber disc that holds the microphone element mounted in a stainless steel base.

UK - Launched at the Paris AES, Sennheiser's new A5000-CP passive helical antenna provides high gain, virtually no multipath problems, and high-quality RF performance over the entire UHF broadcast band. Designed for the most demanding projects and toughest transmission conditions, the circularly polarized A5000-CP can be used as both a transmit and receive device, making it ideal for radio microphones and in-ear monitoring, say Sennheiser.

Unlike conventional helical antennas, most of which have a much narrower bandwidth, the A5000-CP covers the entire UHF range from 450 to 960 MHz. This flexibility makes setting up complex RF transmission systems much easier. The antenna minimizes variations in signal strength and almost completely eliminates multipath problems. Following the lead of the D-01, the digital large diaphragm microphone with 15 different directional characteristics, the well-known, successful miniature microphone series 180 is now entering the digital.

Germany - d&b audiotechnik has launched the latest addition to its monitor range, the new M4 stage monitor. The M4 is a visually discreet, 2-way high performance stage monitor employing an integrated 15"/1.3" exit coaxial driver with a CD horn and passive crossover network.

In its standard 50° x 70° dispersion configuration it provides a precisely defined coverage area on stage. The M4 can optionally be operated in 2-way active mode by changing the d&b D12 amplifier's configuration without any modifications to the loudspeaker. Germany - The new L.U.C.A.S Performer is the latest "refinement" of HK Audio's successful L.U.C.A.S line of active sound reinforcement systems aimed at solo entertainers and combos, the company says. The new model is more compact, lighter, and more powerful than its predecessor. Total system weight has been reduced from 60 to 44kg, thanks to the use of digital power amps and neodymium loudspeakers in both the subwoofer and the satellites.

This time, the award was given to Neutrik AG on the occasion of the NAB 2006 in Las Vegas (24-27 April 2006).

USA - High End Systems has launched ArenaView, a complete turnkey multimedia presentation package for large-scale events. HES recently demonstrated the system at the American Airlines Center to open the first round of the NBA playoffs for the Dallas Mavericks and the NHL playoffs for the Dallas Stars.

USA - Worldwide-automated lighting manufacturer High End Systems (HES) has announced the Collage Generator, a new software feature coming soon for the HES DL.2 Digital Light. The patent-pending software enables DL.2 fixtures to create seamless panoramic media projections controlled from a lighting console. Collage Generator allows the user to take any image, either stock or custom content, and segment it into countless images for projection through DL.2 fixtures.

Says Scott Blair, HES DL.2 product manager: "This new feature differs from the existing edge-fading feature in DL.2 in that Collage Generator allows the user to define a panorama using a selectable array of fixtures and then manipulate the panorama as if it were one single fixture.
