Indonesia - A Midas PRO6 spearheads the new performance space recently constructed for Indonesia's privately-funded University of Bunda Mulia (UBM) in North Jakarta. Chossy Pratama, one of Indonesia's most highly regarded musicians and performers and a leading recording engineer, oversaw the entire development while the console was provided by local Midas distributor PT Gracia Auvindo.

"I wanted the best, so it had to be a Midas," says Pratama. "Their analogue consoles are renowned for providing lots of gain and headroom but here, for a 21st century facility with some space constraints, I opted for a digital board."

Pratama has found that going digital has required no compromise on audio quality. "The EQ and dynamics are similar to those on the Midas Heritage console, and the EQ does exactly what I expect; the first time this has happened with a digita

"We mainly use Studio 1 at Sarm for recording and need the highest quality converters, compressors and EQs," Trevor Horn says. "My engineers, Tim Weidner and Graham Archer, rated the Prisms very highly. We record into Pro Tools and it was the integration and superior quality of the ADA-8XR that were factors in our choice. The flexibility to specify the i/o options of the converters was great as we need more AD for recording. We greatly appreciate the clean and transparent nature of the compression and EQ."

The units have already been used extensively o

Such a system may consist of audio/video, security, HVAC, lighting and other controlled devices that may be incorporated into commercial configurations. This solves a number of problems for the contractor, as integration of disparate units is often a frustrating obstacle when setting up a new system.

The direct result of end-user feedback, the DX1208 represents the next generation of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) from EAW. Now, with full Crestron integration, the DX1208 provid

UK - In response to the impending need for UK wireless microphone and in-ear monitor users to move from Channel 69 (854-862 MHz) to Channel 38 (606-614 MHz), Sennheiser UK has announced the full availability of its new G3 GB systems.

The G3 GB frequency range variant covers ALL of Channel 38 and as many 'future proofed' interleaved frequencies above Channel 38 as its 42 MHz (from 606-648 MHz) tuning range will allow.

As previously stated in July, Channel 69 remains available nationally for wireless microphone use and continues to be licensable. However, the current Ofcom timetable will see access to channels 61-69 inclusive (790-862 MHz) cease during the second half of 2012. This means that any Channel 69 equipment purchased now will have a steadily reducing window of usability for most of its tuning range, with just over two years the longest period for which it will continue
