Poland - Registration is open for the AES 138th International Convention, being held in Warsaw, Poland, 7-10 May 2015, at the Sofitel Victoria Hotel. Hosted by AES 138th Convention co-chairs Bozena Kostek and Umberto Zanghieri, the convention is set to be the largest European gathering of audio industry professionals of the year.

Warsaw is home to a number of recording facilities, movie studios, broadcast and media production houses and more, while boasting a thriving music scene, from classical and jazz, to electronic music and more. This first-ever AES Convention in Poland will host a wide range of tutorials, workshops, engineering briefs and paper sessions covering a wide range of topics relevant to the professional audio industry.

Germany - Funktion-One will launch the new Evolution series at Prolight+Sound Frankfurt 2015, along with a new system for smaller applications.

Evolution is a new series of high intensity loudspeakers from Funktion-One. Utilising the loudspeaker manufacturer's latest technology, the range is centred around the Evo 6 and Evo 7 enclosures. Both products are fully horn-loaded with 15in mid-bass, 10in Funktion-One signature midrange and a 1.4in compression driver solely for high frequencies above 4kHz. The Evo 7 has a 30-degree horizontal dispersion angle and very high efficiency, so just three wide gives 90-degree horizontal coverage for crowd sizes up to around 2,500 people.

This year marks the eighth KOI Awards, which celebrates the creative talents of international lighting and digital content designers working in the UK in the sectors of TV, Theatre and Concert Touring and Events.

With a new award category in Concert Touring and Events for smaller club venues, this year's KOI will widen its reach to celebrate LDs from all stages and scales of touring. Germany - At Frankfurt this year, Pan Acoustics will feature the Dante option for Pan Beam series, Pan Speaker series and Pan Powerline.

The Dante option offers some interesting features: for example, Pan Beam columns can be operated with two independent audio streams with a sampling frequency of up to 192 kHz. The priority circuit in the Pan Beam columns allows automatic switchover of the audio source, for instance switching between programme and announcement signals.

Pan Acoustics' Dante option provides a primary and secondary port, which can be used in redundant or daisy-chain mode. The latter enables other compatible Dante devices, such as a digital stagebox, to be added into the network. Germany - Panasonic will present a 3D video mapping, on a scale model of the Bucharest Palace of Parliament, at Prolight+Sound 2015 in Frankfurt.

Using the newly launched DZ21K Evo series and the all new PT-DZ780, Panasonic will recreate a 3D video mapping projection used to celebrate the 555th anniversary of Bucharest, on the façade of Ceausescu's People's Palace.
